Smart City Definition

A developed urban area that creates sustainable economic development and high quality of life by excelling in multiple key areas; economy, mobility, environment, people, living, and government. Excelling in these key areas can be done so through strong human capital, social capital, and/or ICT infrastructure.

మనము మన హైదరాబాద్ సిటీ ని స్మార్ట్ అండ్ బ్యూటిఫుల్ సిటీగా మారడానికి కొన్ని సూచనలను పాటించినట్లయితే మానముఅనుకున్న రీతిలో మారె అవకాశం ఉన్నదీ . ఏ సిటీ అయితే ఆర్ధికంగా ,సామాజికంగా అత్యుత ప్రమాణలోతోఆ సిటీ లో ఉన్న వారు కాలుష్య రహిత ఆహ్లద వాతావరణం లో , అత్యాధునిక రవాణా మరియు అత్యాధునిక డ్రైనేజీ సిస్టం వ్వవస్థ తో ఏ రకమైన ట్రాఫిక్ ఇబ్బందులు లేకుండా i, మెండుగా నిరుద్యోగులకు ఉద్యోగ అవకాశకులు , అన్ని సేవ లు ఆన్లైన్ లో అందు బాటులో , ఐ టి రంగం లో ప్రగతిని సాధించడం లో కరప్షన్ కు తావివ్వకుండా, క్రమశిక్షణ కల్గిన పౌర వాసులు ,డంప్ యార్డ్ లేని వీధులు , ఎల్ ఈ డీ వీధి దీపాలు ,బిచ్చ బెగ్గర్స్ కి పునరావాసపు గృహాలు , కాలుష్యరహిత మంచి నీటి వ్వవస్థ , మురికివాడలు లేని కాలనీ లు , ఎక్కడ చూసిన పచ్చ ధనంతో , ప్రతి కిలోమీటర్ కు అందు బాటలో మగవారికి మరియు ఆడవారి ఉన్నట్లయితే , ఆర్ధిక నేరాలు తక్కువ ఉన్నట్లయితే , పోలీస్ వైవస్థ ప్రతిష్టాంగా ఉన్న సిటీ ని మనము స్మార్ట్ సిటీ గా అన్యయించుకోగలం . మరి సిటీ( స్మార్ట్ ) గా అభివృద్ధి చేయడానికి కొన్ని సూచనలను చేయడం జరిగింది అవి మనము పాటించినట్లయితే అనతి కాలం లో మన లక్ష్యాన్ని సాధించవచ్చు .

Here are the five main elements of the proposed smart cities identified by the Urban Development Ministry:

1. In terms of infrastructure, the smart cities should have 24x7 availability of high quality utility services like water and power.

2. A robust transport system that emphasises on public transport is also a key element.

3. In social infrastructure, the cities should provide opportunities for jobs and livelihoods for its inhabitants.

4. The smart cities should also have proper facilities for entertainment and the safety and security of the people. State-of-the-art health and education facilities are also a must.

5. The smart cities should minimize waste by increasing energy efficiency and reducing water conservation. Proper recycling of waste materials must be done in such cities

Highlights of Venkaiah Naidu’s speech while announcing the list of Smart Cities:

– Making cities smart will make them engines of economic growth besides giving decent life to the citizens

-13 crore population across 98 cities which is 35% of urban population will be covered under SmartCity Mission

– Central government proposes to give financial support to Mission to the extent of Rs 48,000 crores over 5 years

– State/UTs & urban local bodies have an important role to play in the implementation of SmartCity Mission
